Aghul is a Northeast Caucasian language. About 29,300 people speak Aghul. Aghul is spoken mainly in southern Dagestan in Russia, and also in Azerbaijan.[1] Aghul belongs to the Eastern Samur group of the Lezgic branch within the Northeast Caucasian (Nakh-Daghestanian) language family.

It is closely related to other Lezgic languages such as Lezgian, Tabasaran, Rutul, Tsakhur, Budukh, Kryts, Udi, and Archi
