Aguascalientes is a state in Mexico that is in the north central part of the country. Its state capital is the city of Aguascalientes. The state's name means "hot waters" in Spanish. People gave it this name because there are many hot springs in the area. The adjective for Aguascalientes is hidrocálido, because hidro means water and cálido means hot.
