Alan Walbridge Ladd (September 3, 1913 – January 29, 1964) was an American actor and producer. He was known for being in western and noir movies. His best known roles were This Gun for Hire (1942), The Glass Key (1942), and The Blue Dahlia (1946).
Ladd died on January 29, 1964 from a cerebral edaema caused by an accidental overdose of alcohol, sleeping pills and barbiturate, aged 50.[1][2]
