Alejandro Scopelli Casanova (es, it; 12 May 1908 – 23 October 1987) was an Argentine and Italian footballer and manager. He was capped eight times by Argentina between 1929 and 1937, and played for them at the 1930 FIFA World Cup and the 1937 South American Championship. He was also capped once for Italy in 1935.[2][3]
As a manager, he coached Club América in Mexico, and Valencia CF Español and Deportivo de La Coruña in Spain, Belenenses[4] Sporting CP and FC Porto in Portugal and Universidad de Chile. He also coached the national football teams of Chile, Portugal and Mexico.
Scopelli died in Mexico City on 22 October 1987, aged 79.
