Andrzej Sebastian Duda (born 16 May 1972) is a Polish politician and lawyer. From 6 August 2015 to 6 August 2025, he was the President of Poland. He has a PhD in law. From 2006 to 2007, he was a secretary of state in the Ministry of Justice. From 2008 to 2010, Duda was secretary of state in the Office of President of Poland, Lech Kaczyński. He was also a member of the European Parliament.
In the 2020 election, Duda was re-elected with 51% of the vote.[3]

Biography
Duda is the son of Jan Tadeusz Duda and Janina Milewska, both professors at the AGH University of Krakow. In 1994, he married Agata Kornhauser, a German professor and daughter of the poet and writer Julian Kornhauser. The couple has one daughter, Kinga, born in 1995.
He studied law at the Jagiellonian University. In October 2001, he was appointed assistant professor at the Administrative Department of the Jagiellonian University, earning a doctorate in law from the same university four years later.
