Ar-Raqqah

Ar-Raqqah (Arabic: الرقة / ALA-LC: ar-Raqqah), also spelled Rakka, is a city in north central Syria. It is the capital of the Ar-Raqqah Governorate. It was previously the capital of the Islamic State terrorist organisation from 2014 to 2017.
