Astalaxmi Shakya (Nepali: अष्टलक्ष्मी शाक्य, born September 30, 1953) is a Nepalese politician. She is the former Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.[1] Shakya is first woman to be chief minister of Nepal.[2] Governor Bishnu Prasad Prasain appointed Shakya as the chief minister after she was elected leader of the CPN (UML) on 18 August 2021.

Shakya was first elected to parliament in 1999. She was the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare from 2004 to 2005 and Ministry for Industry from 2008 to 2009. As of February 2023, She was also the vice-president of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist).
