Robert Lane "Bob" Saget[1] (May 17, 1956 – January 9, 2022) was an American comedian and actor. He was best known for his appearances on television as Danny Tanner on Full House[2] and the original host of America's Funniest Home Videos.[3] He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014 for a comedy album that he made.

Personal life

Robert Lane Saget was born on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Dolly and Benjamin Saget. He attended Abington Senior High School in Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, before attending Temple University. Saget married Sherri Kramer on May 16, 1982, and had three children with Kramer: Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer. The pair divorced on November 10, 1997. He married Kelly Rizzo on October 30, 2018.[1]

Death

On January 9, 2022, Saget was found dead at his hotel room in Orange County, Florida near Orlando at the age of 65.[4] The cause of death was a subdural hematoma and a subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by head trauma after falling and hitting the back of his head.[5]
