Codell is an unincorporated community in Rooks County, Kansas, United States. It is south of the city of Stockton (the county seat of Rooks County[1]). It is near the southeastern corner of Rooks County. The nearest city, Plainville, is about 9 miles (14 km) northwest by road.

On May 20 in 1916, 1917, and 1918, Codell was hit by tornadoes.[2] The 1918 tornado was the worst. It killed ten people and did a lot of damage.[source?]
