Captain Con Power (born 1952 or 1953 – 3 November 2024) was an Irish show jumper.[1][2] He has been described as "legendary"[3] and one of the Irish "greatest ever rider".[2]
He won three times in a row the Aga Khan Cup from 1977 to 1979 with the "iconic" Irish team with Eddie Macken, Paul Darragh and James Kernan. He also won the bronze medal at the 1979 European Show Jumping Championships in the team event.[4] He won many other awards between 1976 and 1979.[3] He retired (stopped) in 1988 after an accident.[1]
After a long illness, he died on 3 November 2024 at the age of 71 years.[3]
