The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB; stylized as cpb) is an American privately owned non-profit corporation created on November 7, 1967 by an act of the United States Congress and funded by the federal government.
It was created to promote and help support public broadcasting.[3][4]
On August 1, 2025, the CPB announced that it would be shutting down by the end of January 2026 after its federal funding was fully removed by the Rescissions Act of 2025 in July 2025.
