David Perlman (December 30, 1918  June 19, 2020)[1] was an American science journalist. He was the science editor for the San Francisco Chronicle. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was President of the National Association of Science Writers. He also was a fellow at the California Academy of Sciences.

Perlman died from cancer on June 19, 2020 in San Francisco, California, at the age of 101.[2]
