The Division of Lyons is an Australian electoral division in Tasmania. It was set up in 1984 is named for Joseph Lyons, Prime Minister of Australia 1931–39, Member for Wilmot from 1929 to 1939, and his wife Dame Enid Lyons.[1] Dame Enid was the first woman elected to the Australian House of Representatives in 1943 and the first female member of Cabinet (1949–51).
It is covers an area of 32,910 km² central Tasmania, stretching from the eastern to western coasts and includes such places as New Norfolk, Deloraine and St Marys.[1]
