Douglas Gordon Ross (born 27 January 1983)[1][2] is a Scottish politician who has been the Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party since 2020, and Leader of the Opposition in Scotland since 2021. He has also been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Moray since 2017. Moray is in the north-east of Scotland, with a coastline on the Moray Firth, and is next to the areas of Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Highland. Aswell as being a MP, Ross is also a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Highlands and Islands since 2021. He was previously MSP for the region from 2016 to 2017.

  1. Ross has served as Leader of the Conservative Party in the Scottish Parliament since 6 May 2021, having been preceded by Ruth Davidson.
  2. Normally, regional MSPs do not have individual predecessors and successors. However, Ross retired his seat during a sitting parliament so was succeeded by Halcro Johnston.
