Epichlorohydrin is an organic compound made of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and chlorine. Its name suggests it is a chlorohydrin, but it is not. It is an epoxide.
The largest use of epichlorohydrin is as an ingredient in epoxy resins. It reacts with bisphenol A to make bisphenol A diglycidyl ether.[1]
