Fano is a city and comune of the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region, central Italy.
It is a beach resort 12 kilometres (7 miles) southeast of Pesaro, along the Adriatic Sea. It is the third city in the region by population after Ancona and Pesaro.

Geography
Fano is on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The comune of Fano has an area of 121.84 km2 (47.04 sq mi) and its altitude is 12 m (39 ft) above sea level.[2]
Fano borders with the comuni Cartoceto, Mombaroccio, Mondolfo, Pesaro, San Costanzo and Terre Roveresche.[4]
