Gen Shoji (昌子 源, Shoji Gen, born December 11, 1992) is a Japanese football player. He played for the Japan national team.

Biography
Shoji was born in Kobe on December 11, 1992. After graduating from Yonago Kita High School, he joined J1 League club Kashima Antlers in 2011. He became a regular player as center back from the 2014 season. In 2016, Antlers won the champions in J1 League and qualified for 2016 Club World Cup as host country champions. At Club World Cup, he played all 4 matches and won the 2nd place. In 2018, Antlers won the champions in AFC Champions League first Asian title in the club history. In January 2019, he moved to French Ligue 1 club Toulouse. In February 2020, he returned to Japan and joined Gamba Osaka.
In January 2015, Shoji was selected the Japan national team for 2015 Asian Cup, but he did not play in the match. On March 31, he debuted for the Japan against Uzbekistan. In 2018, he was selected the Japan for 2018 World Cup. He played 3 matches as center back with Maya Yoshida and Japan qualified to the knockout stage. He played 18 games and scored 1 goal for Japan until 2018.
