George Stubbs (25 August 1724 – 10 July 1806) was an English painter. He became famous for his animal paintings, including horses, dogs and lions. He also did the first painting of a kangaroo seen in England. His most famous works were the series of a lion attacking a horse, and are believed to be some of the first romantic paintings.[1]
