Rio de Janeiro Harbour is on the south-western shore of Guanabara Bay, which is surrounded by the city of Rio along a strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains: Sugar Loaf Mountain, Corcovado Peak, and the hills of Tijuca.
