Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and members. It also can be about celebrating an organization's existence. It is a tradition in many high schools, colleges, and churches in the United States. It does not exist in Canada.

History

The tradition of homecoming has its start in alumni football games at colleges and universities since the 19th century. Many schools including Baylor, Southwestern, Illinois, and Missouri[1][2][3] have said that they held the first modern homecoming.
