The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are 11th generation of the smartphones designed and developed by Apple. They were announced on September 12, 2017.[1] beside the more expensive iPhone X. They were released on September 22, 2017.[2]

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus designs are very similar to earlier iPhone designs, with one exception being that it now has a glass back. These two smartphones also allow wireless charging, a feature that allows the smartphone to be charging without needing a wire. Both smartphones also have a faster processor to load apps faster and more efficiently. It also has an improved camera for taking photos with much better quality. The displays on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are also much improved compared to earlier iPhones, allowing the screen to automatically adjust color balance depending on the ambient light (background light). The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus both have the same internal hardware as the iPhone X, sharing the same processors and same memory space as each other.[3][4]

The iPhone 8 has a 4.7 inch display, a 1821 mAh (milliamp per hour) battery capacity and 12MP back wide camera.[5] The iPhone 8 Plus have 5.5 inch display, 2691 mAh, 12MP back wide camera and 12MP back telephoto camera.[6]

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have storage options including 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and Ram is 2GB. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus run on iOS 11. These iOS 11 features include changes in dock, App icon, and Control Center.[7][8] It is the first iPhone to use Wireless Charger.[9] iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have true tone display. They also use an Apple A11 Chipset.[10]
