John Aldridge "Jack" Collom (November 8, 1931 – July 2, 2017) was an American poet, essayist, and pedagogue. His twenty-five books[3] include Red Car Goes By: Selected Poems 1955-2000, Situation Sings (with Lyn Hejinian), and Second Nature, which won the 2013 Colorado Book Award for Poetry.[4]
In the field of education and pedagogy, he made unique contributions in the subjects of eco-literature, ecopoetics, and creative writing instruction for children.
Collon died in Boulder, Colorado from respiratory failure caused by lung cancer on July 2, 2017, aged 85.[5]
