Larry Edwin Craig (born July 20, 1945) is an American politician. He is a former Republican politician from the U.S. state of Idaho. He served 18 years in the U.S. Senate (1991–2009), preceded by 10 years in the U.S. House, representing Idaho's first district (1981–91).[2]
On June 11, 2007, Craig was arrested at the Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport. He was arrested for lewd behavior in the men's bathroom. He ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.[3] Many people and media called him a hypocrite because he felt strongly against LGBT rights in the United States.[4][5]
