Matthew Ryan "Matt" Kemp (born September 23, 1984) is an American professional baseball player. He plays for the Atlanta Braves. He plays the position of outfielder. He has previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. His career began in 2006.[1]

Kemp was drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2003 draft. He went to the major leagues after four years in the minor leagues.

He did not become a full-time player until 2008. He became the everyday starting center fielder. He has been named to two All-Star teams. He has won two Gold Glove Awards.[2] He has won two Silver Slugger Awards.
