Verse I
Bolivians, the fate of good intent,
Has crowned our fervent hopes and deep desire.
This ground is free, our country truly free,
Its long enslaved condition now is gone.
The martial roar that sounded yesterday,
And horrible cries of war, they now have passed,
||: Now follow, in harmonious contrast,
Sweet hymns of unity, of peace and grace. :||
Chorus
Cherished Homeland, high and noble name,
In glorious splendor, let us now preserve.
And on its sacred altars, let us swear:
To die rather than live on as slaves!
To die rather than live on as slaves!
To die rather than live on as slaves!
Verse II
Eternal praise to all our brave warriors,
Whose heroic valor and firm resolve,
Have won the glories that now start to bloom,
For happy Bolivia to now embrace.
May their great names, on marble and on bronze,
Be passed to ages distant and remote,
||: And in resounding songs may they ring out:
Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! :||
Chorus
Verse III
Here justice raised its rightful throne on high,
Which vile oppression truly does not know.
And in its glorious peal, was then bequeathed:
Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!
This innocent and beautiful green land,
Which owes its very name to Bolívar,
||: Is the happy place where every man
Enjoys the blessings of true joy and peace. :||
Chorus
Verse IV
If foreign power should ever one day try
To subjugate Bolivia, our homeland,
Then let it face the fate that will befall,
That threatens every proud and bold aggressor.
For children of the great Bolívar,
Have sworn a thousand times, and sworn again:
||: To perish rather than see humbled low
Our Homeland's sacred banner brought to shame. :||
Chorus
