The Order of Jamaica is an honor given to any Jamaican citizen or to anyone from any other country. The order was made in 1969.[1]

Members and Honorary Members must do:

  • wear the Insignia of the Order as a decoration
  • be named "The Honourable"
  • use the post nominal letters "OJ" (Members) or "OJ (Hon.)" (Honorary Members).

The motto of the Order is "For a covenant of the people".
