Peter Rice (born 1966) is a British media executive and producer. He is the former chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content and former president of 21st Century Fox.[1]
Early life
Rice was born in the United Kingdom in 1966 and graduated from University of Nottingham in 1989.[2]
Career
Fox
Rice started at Twentieth Century Fox in 1989. He became president of Fox Searchlight Pictures in 2000. Later, he led Fox Atomic and then Fox Networks Group, managing TV networks, sports channels, and National Geographic Partners.[3] In 2017, he became president of 21st Century Fox.[4]
Disney
After Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, Rice became chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content, overseeing ABC, FX, Hulu, Freeform, National Geographic, and other TV properties.[5] He was fired from Disney on 9 June 2022.[6]
Producer
In 2023, Rice signed a deal with A24 to produce films and TV shows.[7] He has produced films like Saturday Night (2024), Warfare (2025), 28 Years Later (2025), and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026).[8]
Rice is developing other projects including Elden Ring and Fairy Tale, and will produce the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.[9]

Personal life
Rice lives in Los Angeles with his family. He has two children and serves on the board of the Motion Picture & Television Fund.[10]
