Rare is a video game developer. Their headquarters is in England. In 2002, Microsoft bought Rare with a price of 3.75 billion.[1] Former employees of Rare have established their own companies, including Free Radical Design, renowned for creating the TimeSplitters series, and Playtonic Games, known for Yooka-Laylee (2017).
