Resentment (also called ranklement or bitterness) is an emotion that can mean many things[1] that has been seen as a mixture of disappointment, disgust, anger, and fear.[2]

It can be someone's reaction to injustices or something unfair that has happened in their life. It can also be caused by guilt, someone feeling guilty over something happening that they felt they could have controlled.
