Rio 2 (also known as Rio 2: Jungle Fever) is a 2014 computer animated musical comedy film made by Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox Animation. It stars the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro and Jake T. Austin. Rio 2 was Blue Sky's only G-rated sequel and Blue Sky's only sequel outside of Ice Age.
Rio 2 was released internationally on March 20, 2014,and on April 11 in American theaters by 20th Century Fox. The film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $498.7 million against a production budget of $103–130 million. The film is dedicated to the memory of screenwriter Don Rhymer, who died in 2012.

- Miguel Ferrer as Big Boss, the hot-tempered head of the illegal logging activity. This was Miguel’s final appearance in a theatrical film before his death in 2017.

Release

Rio 2 was released to international theaters on March 20, 2014.[12] The film's premiere was held in Miami, Florida, on March 20, 2014.[source?] The film was released theatrically in the United States on April 11, 2014.[13]
Sequel
In January 2022, it was confirmed that a third Rio film is in development.
