Roy Jacobsen (26 December 1954 – 18 October 2025) was a Norwegian novelist and short-story writer. He was born in Oslo. His career began in 1982 with the short-story collection Fangeliv. He won Tarjei Vesaas' debutantpris, the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature and the Gyldendal Prize during his career. He was a nominee for the International Booker Prize in 2017.

Jacobsen died from problems caused by surgery on 18 October 2025 in Oslo at the age of 70.[1]
