Schaan (German pronunciation: [ʃaːn]) is the largest city of Liechtenstein by population and area. It is located to the north of Vaduz, the capital, in the central part of the country. As of 2005 it has a population of 5,806.[1] This makes it the largest district in Liechtenstein, and covers an area of 26.8 km², including mountains and forest.
