Stanisław Stanislavavič Šuškievič (Belarusian: Станісла́ў Станісла́вавіч Шушке́віч; Russian: Станисла́в Станисла́вович Шушке́вич; December 15, 1934 – May 3, 2022) is a Belarusian politician.
From August 25, 1991 to January 26, 1994, he was the first head of state of independent Belarus after it seceded from the Soviet Union, he was Chairman of the Supreme Soviet.[1]
Shushkevich died in Minsk, Belarus on 3 May 2022, at the age of 87 from problems caused by COVID-19.[2]
