Stephen Rea (/ˈreɪ/ RAY; born 31 October 1946) is an Irish actor. Rea was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for the thriller movie The Crying Game (1992). His other movie credits include V for Vendetta, Michael Collins, Interview with the Vampire and Breakfast on Pluto. Rea's TV roles include The Shadow Line and The Honourable Woman, for which he won a BAFTA Award.

Rea was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was married to Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) member Dolours Price. The couple had two sons. In 1973, Price saw Rea perform at the Court Theatre in London, the same night she took part in the Old Bailey bombing.[1]
