Tha Block Is Hot entered the US Billboard 200 chart at number three and sold 229,500 copies in its first week.^[1][2] In its second week, the album dropped to number ten on the chart and sold an additional 117,000 copies.^[3][4] On December 10, 1999, the album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over a million copies.^[5] As of June 2012, the album has sold 1.4 million copies in the United States.^[6]
