A Union Territory is an administrative division of India. Unlike the states of India, union territories are ruled directly by the federal government. The President of India appoints an Administrator or Lieutenant-Governor for each territory.[1]

There are 8 U.Ts:

1.Jammu & Kashmir

2.Ladakh

3.National Capital Territory of Delhi

4.Chandigarh

5.Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli

6.Puducherry

7.Lakshadweep

8.Andaman & Nicobar
