Vitali Volodymyrovych Klitschko (/vɪˌtæli ˈklɪk/ born 19 July 1971) is a Ukrainian politician and former professional boxer. He has been the mayor of Kyiv since 2014.[1]

As a heavyweight boxer, Klitschko held the WBO title from 1999 to 2000, The Ring magazine title from 2004 to 2005, and the WBC title twice in 2004 and between 2008 and 2013. In 2011, Vitali and his brother Wladimir entered the Guinness World Records book as the pair of brothers with most world heavyweight title fight wins. Of his 47 bouts, he won 45 (41 by KO) and lost twice.

Klitschko was born in Belovodskoye, Kirghiz SSR (now Kyrgyzstan). He is married to Russian former tennis player Natalia Egorova. The couple have three children.

Klitschko has a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) from Kyiv University's Physical Science Department.[2]
