World Painted Blood

World Painted Blood is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band, Slayer. World Painted Blood was released on November 3, 2009 through American Recordings and Sony Music Entertainment.^[2] It is Slayer's last album to feature drummer Dave Lombardo who was fired and guitarist Jeff Hanneman who died of liver failure, both in 2013.^[3][4]

The album peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200,^[5] #18 on the Digital Albums,^[6] #2 on the Top Hard Rock Albums,^[7] #4 on the Top Rock Albums,^[8] and at #1 on the Top Tastemaker Albums charts.^[9] In 2010, the song "Hate Worldwide" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Metal Performance.^[10] The next year, the song "World Painted Blood" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the same category.^[11]
