Noun
- (countable & uncountable) A beverage made from the juice of apples or other fruit. It often, but not always, is alcoholic.
- At the harvest dance, everybody drank a mug of cider.
Usage notes
In the UK, "cider" is an alcoholic beverage. In the US, the alcoholic beverage is called "hard cider", while "cider" doesn't have alcohol and is a drink similar to juice.
