Catherine Élise "Cate" Blanchett është aktore dhe regjizore teatri australiane. Ajo ka fituar një numër të madhe çmimesh, më shumë: dy SAGs, dy Golden Globe Awards, dy BAFTAs ,gjithashtu Cate Blanchett u kandidua me rolin në filmin The Aviator ishte kandidate për çmimin Golden Globe të vitit 2004 në kategorin protagonistia dytësore. Blanchett erdhi në vëmendjen ndërkombëtare të vitit 1998 në film Elizabeth me regjizor Shekhar Kapur me rolin Elizabeth I e Anglisë.Ajo gjithashtu është e njohur për portretizimin e mbretëreshës Galadriel me regjizor Peter Jackson's në filmin The Lord of the Rings trilogy, kolonele-doktore si Irina Spalko në Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull dhe Katharine Hepburn me regjizor Martin Scorsese's në filmin The Aviator, i cili rol i dha asaj çmimin Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.[1][2][3]
