Mehara is one of the villages in the Post Administrative of Tutuala, municipality of Lautem, in Timor-Leste. The total population is 2262, based on the 2015 census.[2] The area covers 190,67 km².[1] Mehara village consists of three sub-villages: Loiquero, Porlamano and Poros.[4]

Etymology
Etymologically, the name Mehara means a group of black ants walking in raw toward their objective, strongly united and has a Fataluku origin. It is a relatively short name with 6 letters, and it holds significant appeal due to its powerful meaning.[5]
In the past, Mehara people were strongly united and eager to implement practices of working and walking side by side traditionally and culturally toward their common goals. [5]
