Ramones

Ramones, 1974 yılında New York'ta kurulmuş, 2263 konser vermiş, 14 stüdyo albümü olan Amerikalı bir punk rock grubudur.^[1] Müzikleri basit olarak görülse de birçok kişiye ulaşmışlardır. Vokalde Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman, grup ilk kurulduğunda davul çalıyordu), gitarda Johnny Ramone (John Cummings), bas gitarda Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin, 1974-1989) ve davulda Tommy Ramone (Thomas Erdelyi, 1974-1978) olarak kurulan (zaman geçtikçe gruptan ayrılanlarla değişen elemanlar: Marky Ramone-Marc Steven Bell; 1978-1983,1987-1996; Richie Ramone-Richard Reinhardt, 1983-1987; Elvis Ramone-Clem Burke; Billy Rogers; C. J. Ramone-Christopher Ward, 1989-1996) New York underground rock çevresinde, bilhassa CBGB (Country, Blue Grass, and Blues) adlı barda çalmaya başlamalarıyla kısa zamanda tanınmışlardır. Öldükten sonra bile hayranları tarafından anılmaya devam edilmektedirler. Ramones, ayrıca bir plak anlaşması imzalayan ilk New Yorklu punk rock grubudur.

Marky Ramone 2005 yılında Misfits'de de bulunmuş ve birkaç grupla çalmıştır. Dee Dee Ramone gruptan ayrıldıktan sonra Dee Dee King olarak rap albüm(leri) yapmıştır. C. J. Ramone ise birkaç projede yer almıştır.

Joey Ramone'un solo albümü Don't Worry About Me ölümünden (15 Nisan 2001) bir yıl sonra çıkmıştır. Dee Dee Ramone 5 Haziran 2002'de yüksek dozda uyuşturucudan, Johnny Ramone ise 15 Haziran 2004'te kanserden, Tommy Ramone ise 11 Temmuz 2014'te safra kanalı kanserinden dolayı ölmüştür.
