Murid (arab.— hohlovchi) — pir yoki eshon (murshid)ga qoʻl berib, sufiylik yoʻliga kirgan shaxs. Tasavvufda tariqat murshidlaridan dars oluvchi shogird maʼnosida ishlatiladi. M.-murshidlik munosabatlari M.ning oʻz piriga soʻzsiz itoat etishi, xizmat qilishi va uning izidan borishini taqozo qilgan. Umuman, M. atamasi sufiy va hatto oddiy musulmon maʼnolarini ham anglatadi. MURIDIYLIK, muridizm — tasavvufning Kavkazda tarqalgan shakli. U tasavvuf taʼlimotining zohidlik, murshidlik va imomlik gʻoyalariga asoslangan. M. 19-asrning 20-yillarida bagʻdodlik yirik sufiy Xolid Sulaymon, shirvonlik shayx Ismoil va buxorolik ulamo Xos Muhammad orqali Shimoliy Kavkazga tarqaldi. Mahalliy qozi Kurali Muhammad (Muhammad Yarogskiy) va Jamoliddin uning nazariy asosini yaratishdi. Keyinchalik Shomil uni yaxlit tariqat shakliga koʻtardi. M. Dogʻiston va Chechenistonda tashkil topgan davlat — imomlik (imomlar: Gʻozi Muhammad, Hamzatbek, Shomil)ning diniysiyosiy va harbiy asosini tashkil qilib, Kavkaz urushlari davrida togʻliklarning Rossiya imperiyasiga qarshi olib borgan kurashlarida gʻoyaviy mafkura sifatida xizmat qildi. Lekin togʻliklarning mustaqillik uchun olib borgan kurashlari muvaffaqiyatsizlikka uchragan. Chor va sovet Rossiyasi davrida M. diniy mutaassiblikka asoslangan reaksion taʼlimot deb qoralandi.
