閃族語個 Šîn（弓）個發音搭現代英語中個連音SH個發音相同，儕發作/ʃ/。拉希臘語中，只用一個音位/s/而沒/ʃ/，所以希臘語中個σιγμα（sigma）用來表示希臘語中/s/個發音。
