卡内基插画奖

卡内基插画奖（英语：Carnegie Medal for Illustration），2022年前被称为凯特·格林威奖（The Kate Greenaway Medal），2023年起更名^[1]。是英国的文学奖，一年颁发一次，于1955年诞生，为童书插画杰出的证明。奖项由英国图书馆与资讯专业学会（CILIP）授予该书插画家。^[2]

凯特·格林威奖常与颁给杰出儿童文学的卡内基奖 （根据剧情作者授予）一同被提及，两个奖项皆由CILIP颁发^[3]；而作为童书插画奖，其性质与美国的凯迪克奖相似，但相较于凯迪克奖注重插图与剧情的平衡、强调让儿童理解，凯特·格林威奖更着重于整本书的艺术品质，力求阅读时也能赏心悦目。^[4]

若想获得凯特·格林威奖的提名资格，书籍必须先在英国或爱尔兰、且于上一学年（9月1日至8月31日）间出版^[5]；若书籍已在其他地区出版，则须在原书出版三个月内，与英国或爱尔兰的出版社再合作出版。书内如果有文字，则必须以英语（原文或翻译后的第一外语）呈现。^[6]

历史

奖项名称是以19世纪英国童书插画家凯特·格林威（1846–1901）的名字来命名。^[2] 它于1955年作为卡内基奖的配对设置，隔年正式颁发给1955年出版的书籍刊物，然而一开始却没有合适的作品能颁予。^[7] 1957年才由艾德华·阿迪卓恩以《孤单的提姆》这本书拿下了第一个凯特·格林威奖。第一枚奖章铸有“1956”的年份标记，仅自2007年后，奖章上的年份才改为出版后的颁奖年份。
