生平

賽門出生於紐約市布朗克斯，他的劇作不僅在百老匯史上膾炙人口，同樣也風靡全球。在1960年代中期到1980年代中期，賽門獲得了極大的名聲與財富。雖說最初是喜劇作家，但他的作品中尤其是《尤金三部曲》（Eugene Trilogy）與《陽光少年》（The Sunshine Boys），均深刻省思了二十世紀猶太裔美國人的生命經驗。
