口螺亞科

口螺亞科（Stomatellinae）是腹足綱軟體動物分類單元鐘螺目鐘螺科之下一個殼長3cm以下細小海螺的亞科^[1]。 本亞科原來為口螺科（Stomatellidae Gray, 1840；亦作Stomatiidae^[2][1]），又名琵琶螺科或廣口螺科^[3]，下領六個屬。

在較早期的分類（例如：Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology（英語：Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology））口螺科被歸入原始腹足目（Archaeogastropoda），但「原始腹足目」這個分類現時國際上大多數文獻都已不再使用。

根據2005年的《布歇特和洛克羅伊的腹足類分類》，口螺科被歸入古腹足類（Vetigastropoda，又名原始腹足類）之下的鐘螺總科^[4]；然後基於 Williams et al. (2008)^[5]及Williams et al. (2010)^[6]的研究結果，本分類單元從廣口螺科（Stomatellidae）降級成為鐘螺科（Trochidae）之下的廣口螺亞科（Stomatellinae）^[6]

形態描述

口螺亞科物種因其獨特的耳形殼、極度退化的螺旋部和異常擴大的體螺層等形態，曾被劃分為一個獨立的科。^[7]
