Damyan Yovanov Gruev (Bulgarian: Дамян Йованов Груев, Macedonian: Дамјан Јованов Груев[lower-alpha 1] January 19, 1871 – December 23, 1906) was а Bulgarian teacher,[3][4] revolutionary and insurgent leader in the Ottoman regions of Macedonia and Thrace.[5] He was one of the six founders of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization. Per Macedonian historiography, he was an ethnic Macedonian.[6][7] He is considered a national hero in Bulgaria and North Macedonia.[8]
