Mirjaveh

Mirjaveh (Persian: ميرجاوه, also Romanized as Mīrjāveh; also known as Mīrjāwa)[3] is a city in the Central District of Mirjaveh County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, serving as capital of the county and the district.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 13,590 in 2,350 households, when it was in the former Mirjaveh District of Zahedan County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 10,121 people in 2,135 households,[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 9,359 people in 2,107 households.[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Mirjaveh County.[4]
Mirjaveh is the main road crossing point between Iran and Pakistan. The Pakistani border post is at Taftan.[7] Mirjaveh is also the point where the railway line from Pakistan crosses the border on the way from Quetta to Zahedan.
