Rachid Madrane

Rachid Madrane (born 15 April 1968) is a Belgian politician and journalist of Moroccan descent. He is currently Speaker of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region.

He first served as a member of the regional parliament from 2004 to 2009, before serving as a member of the federal Chamber of Representatives between 2010 and 2012, representing the electoral district of Brussels-Hal-Vilvoorde. The day after the 2019 elections, Madrane was appointed president of the Brussels regional parliament, where he was installed in July.[1]
He has a degree in journalism and communication from the Free University of Brussels.[2]
